We breed and sell Dobermans in Florida, the Doberman originated in Germany as a guard dog. These dogs of European descent earned a fierce reputation.
Furthermore most people don’t know that there are two different types of Dobermans, American and European.
Consequently even though they look similar for the most part they are vastly different in temperament, and size.
If you are looking for a family guard dog then a European Doberman is what you want.
The American Doberman, was breed to be a show dog and is smaller in size.
With an average weight from 60 to 80 lbs.
European Doberman bred to be a guard dog.
Besides with an average weight of 80 to 100 lbs and being more muscular, they are called a working class dog
The European has a high drive and more aggressive attitude making them a superior family guard dog.
We have had Doberman’s for almost 40 years and i can tell you from personal experience there is no comparison.
That being said there still is another difference in the European Doberman line that most people are not aware of, and it’s size.
They are referred to what some people call large King, or Warlock.
Again with an average weight of 100 to 120 lbs they are very rare and hard to find.
We breed and sell the large Doberman puppies for one reason.
They are hands down a far greater deterrent for an intruder.
When it comes to a guard dog size weight, and temperament matter.
Besides if an intruder came to your door.
And they either see an 80 pound Doberman or a 120 pound doberman standing in front of them.
Who do you think gets more respect?
Most men weigh between 170 and 200lbs.
In fact i can tell you that 120 Doberman can knock you down very easily.
And that would be the worst place to be is on the ground with one that is intent on doing harm.
Also being much larger when on there hind legs they are in your face to bite you, not nipping at your legs, and arms.
Besides Our Dobermans attack high, not low.
Lastly this is why People wait 6 months to a year to get one of ours, and travel over 1000 miles!
